I like social MEDIA, not SOCIAL media

Introduction

One thing i have noticed in my short life span is that the people who use social media are different depending on what sites they use. Someone who is genuinely a consumer and just is trying to consume and get more ideas for art might be on YouTube and Pinterest. While those who want nothing to do with consuming but want to socialise as well they are found mostly on sites like Reddit, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok etcetera.

The difference between these 2 groups of people is the difference between white and black… Or sky and land. And today we will dive into this topic and understand how both the consumers of these different apps differ and how to become a better consumer.

Twitter, Instagram….

Firstly, the people who are on Twitter, Instagram or Reddit, are mostly people with messed up attention spans requiring them to end up on sites like these where they trade their attention for entertainment forms like reels, TikToks etcetera. Even YouTube has a shorts feature but we are mainly talking about the long form content on YouTube today.

Especially Instagram, Instagram is a site where hate is at an all time high…. Every post where the admin posts something about his achievement, there will be people trying to take everything to a negative light. It is honestly tiring to log in on an app hoping to enjoy some content and have fun but see some poor 12yr old who makes a singing account be bombarded with hate. Like, it’s so mean, has the barrier of a screen made us forget basic humanity?

Then there is twitter, which cancels people every other day…. I’m not saying these sites dont have good in them, they do, but it is quite rare compared to the hate. The users feel as if if they do not hate they are not cool or something.

Youtube, Pinterest….

Now we come to YouTube and Pinterest, there are many extremely awesome youtube channels like Life of Riza, Tim DeMoss, Lrnjulie and much more. What I like about these small youtube channels are how they post stuff which ends up inspiring me or giving me ideas to write about. These channels are emitting positivity in a world of negativity…. I also like watching video essays where the creator explains a topic very well and in detail. It is very informative. There is not much room for hate on YouTube.

The same is with pinterest, it is all about pictures. there will be enough art inspiration to last you for a lifetime, that’s what I like about Pinterest.

Conclusion

I’m trying to be as unbiased as possible while writing this but there isn’t really a competition between the two sides

What I’m trying to say dear reader is that social media sites are only good if in a limit, but we always pass that limit and end up deep in hate or giving grief to others. The difference in sites like YouTube and Pinterest is that they are genuinely just Medias to explore, works of humans no smarter than us put to display.

So choose the platforms from which you consume wisely, otherwise you will end up in a state of negativity. That’s all. Thank You <3
