Granny

I still remember the times,
When i used to go there,
Enjoy the spicy dosa-chutney,
Sit on the stairs,
Eat the dish cooked with love,
Rice-rasam and gravy,

Time seemed to slow back then,
No worries, no stress,
Just me with her,
I miss those times,
I walked for 7 minutes to reach her,
I never appreciated those 7 minutes,

Now it takes an hour of a car ride to reach her,
To reach where I truly feel at home
The house has changed too,
I want to go back to being at my grannys house,
Back with her,
Back to those lonely afternoons spent in front of the screen watching a serial,
Back to laughing at my experience at school….

I just want to be at grannys house again…
Well I go to her house,
But it doesn’t give off the same feeling anymore,
The feeling of home,
I’m at my home but I am not,
I’m with my granny but I’m not,
Maybe it’s not the place but me,
Me that has changed,
And that has made all the difference.
