The Beauty of Life: Embracing the Journey

Introduction

I feel like I’m going through something. I don’t know what it is called. All I know is, I’m confused most of the time, but also really calm and collected at others. I have been stuck waiting for stuff to happen to me. Like a ball waiting for it to be moved.

Its hard to find the push, the push to move. It is tough to move when you do not know where you are supposed to be moving. But regardless, any motion is better than staying static, right?

Why movies and life is so similar yet so different

We watch movies, and hope. Hope that life was as simple as it is in them. We watch love stories, and hope love came to us that easily. We watch adventure movies, and long for something like that to happen to us. We watch a bunch of friends hanging out, and we wish we could experience that.

But what I feel is, the reason we like movies is because it is an altered version of life. There are bits and pieces to it from our own lives. We don’t really relate to it, but we relate to the want that is achieved in the movie. When a heartbroken teenager sees a romance movie, he does not like it because he relates to it. He likes it because it reminded him of what could have been in his life.

Movies are I feel two dimensional.. Whereas life is multi-dimensional. Movies make us feel like life is a series of choices- either this or that. Either the red pill, or the blue pill. But what I feel is life is much more than that. Life has a blue pill, a red pill, an orange pill, a black pill and a ton of other pills.

Conclusion

What I’m saying is, sometimes we wait for life to happen to us…. Like it happens in movies. We see these lovable characters, all stuck somewhere in their lives, and we see that they get an opportunity to get out of that static motion and start moving. And they do. Life is hardly like that. Most people don’t have a ‘Escape the static motion’.

What they do have is a self push option. Work on it and hope an opportunity presents itself in due time and it works out. You cannot wait for life to happen to you dear reader, you have to make it happen.

Remember, lucky days are once a blue moon thing. But, if you show up every day, if you are consistent every day, you will never miss a lucky day. Rome was not built in a day. Many things go unnoticed for years before they are finally noticed by society.

All I’m saying is, don’t wait for life to happen to you, make it happen… You might not know exactly what to do but do something. That’s all.

Thank You <3

    Hey Chris,
You mention “waiting”, I came across, I think it was an Instagram post, the other day and it was about the toxicity of a “waiting” mindset. It’s truly corrosive for your creative soul to be in a “waiting” mode. It made a lot of sense to me. It relinquishes control to something that is not quite higher because it places pressure on the outcome. Maybe just write and trust for awhile that you are right where you need to be. Perhaps just create for the purpose of creating and take all the pressure off it. It has fairly moved mountains in my own process lately, that, and committing to consistency – which I wrote a post about on my other substack. Your writing is interesting and on point – keep going!

Thank you Kate for the comment… Yes, the waiting mindset is really bad for oneself, and not letting it happen but doing it yourself is the best path from what I have experienced…. I will add a follow button as soon as I can lol and then you can follow my site… Thanks a lot
