Introduction
You ever buy some food from a shop or a street vendor and instead of paying the money and saying Thank You, you say, I appreciate you? And the next time that you go there they treat you in a friendly way. If you have not done this, I have, and its an awesome feeling.
The way a person who deals with 100s of people everyday remembers you is truly remarkable. That too all because of a sentence.
Poetry I feel can be seen in not the books that we buy and do not read, but in the course language that we live everyday. In the valuable words we say, whether kind or poetic, have an effect on people. That effect makes them remember us among the 100s of people they interact with.
The mosaic lines that make us, US.
I have seen a lot of people who are into literature say that they want to write something that will speak to the world that “I was here”. What you don’t realise is that you are already doing it. Every word that you speak, every recording that you make, everything you write, will be read by your loved ones when you pass and they are missing you.
That I feel is the beauty of life, that all of us manage to make a statement with our lives that makes some of the survivors to remember and reminisce about us.
I read this Instagram comment which I feel explained life in a poetic sense so beautifully. Here it is, “Life is a poem and our lives are just lines scribbled over and over the same canvas. To some, it is a beautiful mosaic but for others it is a meaningless trace of lines overlapping forever.”
The question is, what will be YOUR lines. Something to wonder, right?
Conclusion
There’s a scene in Dead Poets Society where John Keating says that despite all the lucrative professions designed to keep us alive. It is passion, poetry and art that makes us want to live life.
So, dear reader, I say to you, live like a poem. Make yourself remembered, live a life such that when someone says kind someone you know should think of you. When someone says hard-working, they should think of you. That’s all
Thank You<3
